Between 1967 and 1971, Claude Guillaumin immersed himself into New York and Washington’s important demonstrations. He captured on the other side of the ocean from his home in Paris historical moments and demands such as The Women’s March: for the rights of equality between women and men and abortion rights, The Black Panther’s March: fighting racism, the March for Peace: against War of Vietnam (among other things) the 1st Gay Pride: fighting against homophobia. These records are 50 years old and while it’s sad to admit that today , these events don’t bring anything new to the floor, people still go out on the streets to protest for the same rights and fight for the same causes because the arch of justice is long.
